Museum of Seminole County History Battle at Camp Monroe

  • When: Saturday, February 3, 2024, 10:00 am -  4:00 pm
  • Location: 300 Eslinger Way Sanford, Florida

CAMP MONROE: Join us for a living history day commemorating the battle of Lake Monroe in Sanford in 1837! Black powder musket and rifle firings plus other demonstrations will occur throughout the day.

PUBLIC DAY: February 3, 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Come tour the camps of U.S. soldiers and Seminoles and learn why they fought over the rivers, swamps, and savannahs of Florida during the longest and most costly “Indian War” in U.S. history.
