SOAR Transition Academy
SOAR Transition services are available for exceptional education high school grades 9-12 students ages 14 to 21. Funding is provided through the McKay and Gardiner Scholarship programs. The program is specifically designed to help students increase their independent living skills and plan for life beyond high school. Participants will learn about self advocacy, career readiness skills, inventory strengths and interests, and explore a variety of job experiences. Students may defer graduation and participate in work-based learning experiences once they have completed 12th grade and fulfilled academic requirements.
SOAR Beyond 22 is a transition program for young adults ages 18-24 who have completed high school. Participants rotate through three to four activities each day depending on their unique abilities. Activities include computer skills, career research, career education, strategy building, social skills training, and independent living skills development activities. Explore career opportunities and develop skills leading toward increased independence and personal development. We hope to encourage social interactions and community participation.er unique abilities.
