SOAR Career Camps focus on developing the essential skills young adults need to successfully enter today’s workforce. Initiative, teamwork, soft skills, effective communication, time management, and hands-on work experience are all critical to building a strong professional foundation, and our Career Camps are designed to cultivate these abilities in a supportive and engaging environment.
Our organization provides comprehensive career education, career exploration, work-based learning, self-advocacy, and leadership development through a variety of structured activities and hands-on experiences. Participants engage in practical exercises that simulate real-world work environments, helping them develop confidence, problem-solving skills, and independence that will benefit them well beyond the classroom.
Through a contracted grant from Vocational Rehabilitation, we are proud to offer free Career Camps for youth and young adults with disabilities between the ages of 14-21. Eligible participants include those receiving special education services through either a 504 Plan or an Individualized Education Program (IEP). Our camps are intentionally designed to meet the unique needs and abilities of each participant, ensuring a personalized experience that maximizes learning and growth.
During the camp, students learn a variety of career-related skills, including career research, professional etiquette, resume building, and effective communication. They also gain hands-on work-based learning experience, participate in team projects, and engage in social and life skills development. Community outings and presentations from guest speakers provide additional opportunities for participants to explore potential career paths, gain exposure to different industries, and envision their future success.
At SOAR Career Camps, we are dedicated to empowering young adults with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to navigate the workforce successfully, fostering independence and opening doors to meaningful career opportunities.
