Happy 200th Birthday, Henry Sanford!
On Saturday June 10th, the Sanford Museum will celebrate the 200th birthday of its town founder, Henry Shelton Sanford, with a special event that makes known his contributions to not only to Sanford’s local history, but Henry Sanford’s influence on the world stage. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the museum located at 520 E. First Street, Sanford, FL 32771.
The event will include several activities for visitors to enjoy, including guided tours of the museum's collection of artifacts and exhibits related to Sanford's life and legacy. There will also be various activities for children of all ages to participate in, such as decorating top hats, racing boats, and writing coded birthday cards. At 1 p.m. there will be a presentation by the museum’s curator, Brigitte Stephenson, on the life of Henry Shelton Sanford. Plus – there will be cake!
