Sanford Memorial Day Ceremony

As our Nation approaches the 250th anniversary of American Independence, and we reflect on the freedoms secured through the blood, sweat, and sacrifice of patriots across more than two centuries, the City of Sanford cordially invites you and your family to the 2026 Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony.
Heroes’ Avenue opens at 9:00 AM giving guests of all ages the opportunity to meet our local heroes, our veterans and first responders, who will proudly display restored military vehicles, fire trucks, emergency command vehicles, and law enforcement equipment.
A historian will share insights on America’s 250th Birthday, and patriotic music will help set a reflective tone for the day. Light refreshments will be available starting at 9:00 AM in the Recreation Department’s conference room.
The formal ceremony will begin at 10:00 AM with SFC Joey Cote, U.S. Army (Ret) and Division Manager for Seminole County Veterans Services, serving as Master of Ceremonies. This year’s event is proudly sponsored by Casselberry Veterans, Inc., an esteemed veterans club known for its community spirit and support for veterans from all military branches.
