Play with Clay at Creative Jane Art Studio

Each student will receive 1.5 lbs of clay at their work station with tools and supplies. We will begin our classes by discussing clay, safety, and techniques for the days project. We will use our imagination to describe ideas and talk about how we might go about making that with clay (see Class Format for our weekly projects).
Then it's project time! Step by step we will build our ceramic art project with all levels of assistance available. Next students will be encouraged to make their piece their own; decorating, carving, and embossing in their own way. Discovery and play is encouraged! We will then use a non-toxic, dinnerware safe, underglaze colors on our creations to give them life! Pieces will be signed and prepared to dry, cleaning up before pick up.
After your creation has dried, Miss Kristin takes your precious artwork to be kiln fired to become "bisque" so it's ready to for it's shiny glaze. At the end of the 7 Week block your child will have 7 new art pieces to proudly display, safely use, and lovingly gift, for lifetime memories and total joy of bringing a new object into existence!
