The Longwood Police Department in conjunction with Safe Kids, Seminole County participates in Child Safety Seat Checks and Education. Safe Kids Seminole County urges families to buckle up the entire family when traveling. Wearing a seat belt is still the most effective way to save lives and reduce injuries from motor vehicle crashes on America’s roadways. Chances are that someone that you know will be involved in a car crash this year. If they are not buckled up, they’re 50 percent more likely to be injured or killed. Unfortunately, many of those who die will be children; since motor vehicle crashes are still the leading cause of death for children in America.
On the third Tuesday of each month, a Child Safety Seat Check Station is set up at the Longwood Police Department, 235 West Church Avenue, Longwood, Florida. Car seat checks will be done from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m by appointment only and must be scheduled in advance of the dates provided. To make an appointment please contact Marie Tollas by calling 407-260-3424 or by emailing carseats@longwoodfl.org.
