edition!
This production is open to performers ages 8-18, and w
e encourage individuals of all abilities to audition and share their love f
or theater and storytelling!
Join Shrek, a grumpy but lovable o
gre, on an unforgettable adventure to rescue Princess Fiona and reclaim the
peace of his swamp. Along the way, he teams up with the hilarious Donkey,
outsmarts the scheming Lord Farquaad, and discovers that true friendship an
d love come from embracing who you are. Filled with laughter, heart, and fa
vorite fairy tale characters, Shrek the Musical TYA is fun for the whole fa
mily!
To prepare for the character audition, you must prepare a
one-minute monologue and sing a one-minute song that is upbeat and geared t
oward your ideal character. Please bring a karaoke track for your song to s
ing along to. Monologues do NOT have to be from published pieces and please
bring an accompanying track to sing along with at your audition.
NOTE: If you can't make the audition date, we are accepting video sub
missions until 11:59 on Friday, July 17th at 11:59pm! We will also offer a
virtual callback option if they are not available to attend on July 18th. P
lease be sure to indicate whether you would need to have an in person audit
ion/callback or a digital audition/callback.
Requirements for video su
bmissions are the same as above.
Once auditions are closed,
we will email a rehearsal video for the dance portion of the callback, if
there will be a dance callback.
Cast List will be announced by W
ednesday evening after Callbacks. It is important to note that if your stud
ent gets a callback, there will be a required parent meeting at callbacks t
o explain rules and policies for the show. If your student is at callbacks,
they will be getting a part in the show, even if it is not a part that the
y got called back for.
