SUMMARY:Avian Recondition Center American Eagle Day
LOCATION:323 W Lester Rd, Apopka, FL 32712
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:The United States officially adopted the design of its Great Seal with a ba
ld eagle at the forefront on June 20, 1782. As our national symbol, the bal
d eagle represents strength and freedom. Today, June 20 also recognizes the
bald eagle's conservation success story. In the 1900s, wild populations of
bald eagles were at greater risk to habitat loss, illegal shooting, and un
intended poisoning from the insecticide DDT. With the passing of the Endang
ered Species Act and the ban on DDT in the United States, bald eagle popula
tions made a tremendous comeback.\n\nMeet ambassador bald eagles and other
education ambassadors\nEnjoy flight demonstrations, weather permitting\nTak
e a photo with an ambassador bald eagle\nAdmission is $5 per person at the
gate the day of the event. Children five years and younger are free. All pr
oceeds advance the Avian Reconditioning Center's mission to save birds of p
rey and deliver wildlife education. Thank you for your support
