  Seminole County, organized each year by the Scottish-American Society of C
 entral Florida, was created to promote and preserve Scottish heritage. \n\n
 Each January, the two-day gathering welcomes thousands of visitors to Centr
 al Winds Park in Winter Springs. \n\nThe festival begins on Saturday with c
 ompetitions in Scottish heavy athletics, Highland dance, bagpiping, and bak
 ing. The weekend hosts cultural activities, including Border Collie demonst
 rations, Scottish clans, musical performances, a medieval camp, ax throwing
 , and more. There is also the popular Boulder Boogie event, where contestan
 ts vie for bragging rights of carrying the heaviest stone the farthest dist
 ance without dropping it. \n\nOur festival is a family-friendly event featu
 ring a non-competitive “Kids Games” version of Scottish athletics and other
  activities. We feature the best Celtic artisans presenting jewelry, clothi
 ng, artistry, weaponry, and more.
