  Seminole County, organized each year by the Scottish-American Society of C
 entral Florida, was created to promote and preserve Scottish heritage. <br 
 /><br />Each January, the two-day gathering welcomes thousands of visitors 
 to Central Winds Park in Winter Springs. <br /><br />The festival begins on
  Saturday with competitions in Scottish heavy athletics, Highland dance, ba
 gpiping, and baking. The weekend hosts cultural activities, including Borde
 r Collie demonstrations, Scottish clans, musical performances, a medieval c
 amp, ax throwing, and more. There is also the popular Boulder Boogie event,
  where contestants vie for bragging rights of carrying the heaviest stone t
 he farthest distance without dropping it. <br /><br />Our festival is a fam
 ily-friendly event featuring a non-competitive “Kids Games” version of Scot
 tish athletics and other activities. We feature the best Celtic artisans pr
 esenting jewelry, clothing, artistry, weaponry, and more.
