
26th Annual Central Florida Kwanzaa Celebration – Day 1: Umoja (Unity) December 26, 2025 br />
The Equity Council Corp proudly presents the 26th Annual Central Florida Kwanzaa Celebration, sponsored by the City of Winter Park’s Parks & Recreation Department, marking Day 1 of Kwanzaa with the principle of Umoja (Unity). This year’s observance honors more than three decades of Kwanzaa tradition in Central Florida while intentionally looking toward the future.
Founded in 1966 by Dr. Maulana Karenga, Kwanzaa is a cultural celebration rooted in African heritage and the Nguzo Saba, seven guiding principles that emphasize unity, purpose, collective responsibility, creativity, and faith.

Umoja Candle Lighting Ceremony
Tam Tam Alifa African Drummers
Kwanzaa Community Dancers (choreographed by Tanita Fadyeyola)
Live musical performances featuring Empress Nyce, Dean Kulcha, and headliner Miss.illaneous (special tribute performance)
SOKO Marketplace featuring Black-owned businesses
Community Kwanzaa Dinner
