For The Children

SafeHouse has programs in place to aid in the rehabilitation process for children who have been involved with abuse. Children are often the silent victims of domestic violence and the effects can significantly impact their future physical and emotional wellbeing. We offer a number of support programs for children and teens like our Power of Play and BRAVE programs that help develop healthy, positive relationships and overcome the negative effects of violence in the home.

Programs

The Power of Play: At our campus housing for children and women, we encourage kids to explore free, unstructured playtime that is critical to healthy development. Many children struggle with anger, fear, low-self esteem stemming from their home life situation. Our Power of Play program allows children to deal with these emotions and stimulates creativity, allowing them to be in control of their environment while feeling safe and secure. Our specially trained staff work with children every day after school, incorporating lessons on conflict resolution, bullying, and much more in a caring supervised space.

SafeHouse Outreach Center offers a variety of youth workshops for children who have witnessed domestic violence.
